When no change in your visa status is required:<br \/>\n(A) If you are mid- to long-term resident with: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;Highly Skilled Professional&#8221; (i) (a) or (b), <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Highly Skilled Professional&#8221; (ii) (a) or (b), <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Researcher,&#8221; <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Engineer\/Specialist in Humanities\/International Services,&#8221; <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Nursing Care,&#8221; <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Entertainer&#8221; (limited to those who are engaged in activities under a contract with their organization), <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Specified Skilled Worker,&#8221; or <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Skilled Labor,&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>then you have to submit \u201cNotification of the affiliated (<u>contracting<\/u>) organization\u201d. (the form is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.isa.go.jp\/en\/applications\/procedures\/nyuukokukanri10_00015.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>(B) If you are mid- to long-term resident with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;Professor,&#8221; <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Highly Skilled Professional (i) (c),&#8221; <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Highly Skilled Professional (ii) (c),&#8221; <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Business Manager,&#8221; <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Legal\/Accounting Services,&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Medical Services,&#8221; <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Instructor,&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Intra-Company Transferee,&#8221; <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Technical Intern Training,&#8221; <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Student,&#8221; or <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Trainee&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>then you have to submit \u201cNotification of the affiliated (<u>activity<\/u>) organization\u201d. (the form is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.isa.go.jp\/en\/applications\/procedures\/nyuukokukanri10_00014.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>This document must be filed with the Immigration Office (<i>Nyu-kan<\/i>) within 14 days after you quit the job and\/or joined a new organization. If there are more than 14 days between the last day of your old job and the first day of your new job, then you have to submit a document of termination and of new entry separately when each event occurs. <\/p>\n<p>Filing \u201cNotification of the affiliated (activity\/contracting) organization\u201d can be done:<br \/>\n&#8211;\tonline (registration is required)<br \/>\n&#8211;\tby mail or<br \/>\n&#8211;\tby bring it directly to the nearest immigration office.<\/p>\n<p>The required documents to submit are:<br \/>\n&#8211;\tThe form of notification (termination, entry or termination &#038;entry)<br \/>\n&#8211;\tYour residence card (a copy if you mail them)<\/p>\n<p>Where to submit by mail:<br \/>\nRegistration Department, Tokyo Regional Immigration Services Bureau<br \/>\nYotsuya Tower 14F, 1-6-1 Yotsuya, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, 160-0004<br \/>\n\u6771\u4eac\u51fa\u5165\u56fd\u5728\u7559\u7ba1\u7406\u5c40\u5728\u7559\u7ba1\u7406\u60c5\u5831\u90e8\u9580\u5c4a\u51fa\u53d7\u4ed8\u62c5\u5f53 (written in Japanese)<br \/>\nAlso write &#8220;\u5c4a\u51fa\u66f8\u5728\u4e2d&#8221; in Japanese in red on the front of the envelope.<\/p>\n<p>For details about Notification of the affiliated (activity) organization, see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.isa.go.jp\/en\/applications\/procedures\/nyuukokukanri10_00014.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<br \/>\nFor details about Notification of the affiliated (contracting) organization, see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.isa.go.jp\/en\/applications\/procedures\/nyuukokukanri10_00015.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The failure of filing this document could result in penalty. It also could result in shortening of your period of stay next time you apply for extension. Having said that, it is much better you file the document even if it is well beyond the 14-day period than not filing it at all. <\/p>\n<p>When you are not sure that you should change visa status upon your job change, it is advised to obtain a Certificate of Authorized Employment (\u5c31\u52b4\u8cc7\u683c\u8a3c\u660e\u66f8) in advance with the help of your new employer. If you can obtain this certificate, it will be a big advantage when you apply for extension next time on condition that you are still employed by the new employer. <\/p>\n<p>2.
